not just a sandwich, also a great dog!. likes: Rueben likes to look out the window, snuggle, belly rubs, outside exploring, and naps (especially with his human) treats, good morning zoomies, and nice weather. dislikes: Snow, leashes, blankets on him, toys (very scary) doorways, sudden movements, being alone, change. ideal home: He would like a home with consistency and someone who can help him learn to be braver. A note from the foster: Reuben is completely uninterested in Cats so even with 2 cats here it's very harmonious living. I had my very busy loud family over at Easter and he was mostly interested in getting treats. Keep in mind my family is well trained in going slow with dogs. He does bark for strangers and makes a little fuss when he is left at home alone but settles in and stops barking after a little time. Detached home, Senior home, Quiet home, Active home, Left alone 2-4 hrs only. energy level: Low. experience with kids: recommend only Children over 12 yrs. experience with cats: Yes. training needs: Rueben is just starting to find his bravery, he is very good at coming when you call him and he just wants to please you but seems to be worried about making a mistake. If you keep his leash completely loose he will take little steps with you, but will resist immediately if there is any tension on the leash. He is very very smart and wants to please his people so he is a fast learner when he is feeling safe. He doesn't understand what pee pads are and does his best to hold it in the house and is very happy to go outside to go to the bathroom and does great zoomies when he has finished, so I think he is housetrained and will give indication of his needs if given time and praise. Knows other commands, House trained, Barks indoors, Shy, Fearful. medical needs: It has been recommended to have him on a hypoallergenic diet as he seems to have some skin issues at this time. From reuben's Foster: Reuben is very sweet and gentle with everyone he meets. He loves to snuggle and gives belly rub approval with the most adorable doggie moans. He will be your best friend and happily accompany you wherever you go. He has perfected the "biiggg stretch" move and will perform it every time he is greeted. Forget toys, naps and treats are his 2 favorite things, so if you are looking for a laid back, loyal, bed hog, that loves a little neighborhood gossip, he is the one for you.
