Meet Benson, aka sweet, sweet Benny Boy. 🐾 At just 1 year old and about 50 pounds, Benny is a dense little-big medium guy with puppy energy, a goofy grin, and a whole lot of “what are we doing next?” packed into one lovable body. Benny is fun, happy, smart, and always ready to be part of the action. He is not looking for a quick shuffle around the block and then calling it a day. This boy wants real outings. Trail walks, runs, camping trips, beach adventures, outdoor events, maybe even biking buddy status once he’s had some practice. If it involves fresh air, movement, and being included, Benny is already at the door with his invisible backpack packed. He would also be an amazing candidate for games, training, agility, or anything that lets him use both his busy brain and bouncy body. Benny is incredibly food motivated, which makes him a dream for someone excited to continue his training and help him grow into the amazing adult dog he is well on his way to becoming. A fully fenced yard will be important for Benny so he has a safe space to stretch his legs and burn off some of that joyful zoomie fuel between adventures. He gets a couple of good playful bursts during the day, but he also has a wonderful ability to settle. When left alone, he typically just naps, and at night he is a total pro. He heads straight to his bed and sleeps right through until morning. Benny has been wonderful with the older kids in his foster home and truly adores them. That said, he is still discovering that he is not, in fact, a tiny puppy anymore. His enthusiasm can come with some accidental body-check energy, so a home with school-aged, dog-savvy kids would be the best fit. He also really enjoys the company of other dogs, especially playful dogs who can match his energy and enjoy some cheerful canine shenanigans. A confident dog buddy who is up for fun could be right up Benny’s alley. Like many young dogs, Benny is still working on his manners, but it all comes from that expressive, happy-go-lucky personality of his. With someone home most of the time to offer structure, consistency, training, and guidance, this boy is going to absolutely blossom. Underneath all the wiggles, zoomies, and oversized puppy charm is a lovely, loyal dog just waiting for his person. With the right balance of adventure, training, and love, Benny Boy is going to grow into an incredible companion: always ready, always devoted, and very likely already standing beside you wondering when the next adventure begins. 🧡
