About Toffee

🐾 Meet Toffee! 🐾 Breed: Jindo mix Age: 1 year Gender: Female Weight: 33 lb Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, playful Hi there! My name is Toffee, and I’m looking for my forever home. πŸ’› I came into the city pound last January with my three siblings, including my sister S’more, who is also up for adoption. We were just tiny puppiesβ€”only about two months oldβ€”without our mama. No one wanted to adopt us for two whole months, and just when things seemed hopeless, a wonderful rescue saved us before euthanasia. Now, I’m living in a foster home with my siblings, learning all about the world around me. I’m still a little shy when meeting new people, but once I trust you, I don’t mind being lifted and cuddled. Outside, I’m still getting used to all the new sights and sounds, so I can be a bit nervous and keep my tail tucked. But I’m trying my best, and my foster mom is helping me feel more confident every day! 🐢 What I love: Playing with my siblings and other dogs πŸ• Learning new things with my foster mom πŸ“š Exploring (even if I need a little encouragement at first) 🌍 Snuggling once I feel safe πŸ’› 🐱 What I think about cats: I’ve met a few cats in a big yard and didn’t react to them, so I might be fine living with a cat friend! πŸš€ My energy level: I’m still a puppy, so I have lots of energy at home! Playtime is my favorite time. πŸ’‘ Things I’m working on: Feeling more comfortable outside 🏑 Walking on a leash 🚢‍♀️ Building confidence around new people and places 🌎 Potty training 🚽 πŸš— Other things to know about me: I don’t show aggression or resource guarding πŸ₯° I don’t bark much πŸ”‡ I don’t try to escape πŸšͺ I do get a little nervous in the car, but I’m working on it! 🚘 I’m looking for a patient and loving family who will help me continue learning and growing. Could that be you? If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle pup who just needs a little extra love to shine, I’d love to meet you! πŸ’• 🐾 Love, Toffee 🐾 I get along with: Dogs: Yes Cats: Possibly yes as per few encounters Kids: Unsure Energy level: High as I'm still in my puppyhood Fears: Non observed . Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training. House trained: Please be paitient and prepare to assist me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
