Thatcher Mastiff (Courtesy Post)   |   Male   |   Mastiff   | My humans found me at the SPCA and fell in love with my kind eyes and quiet demeanor. I had been brought in by animal control as a stray. I had not been cat tested so they took the risk with high hopes that I would be able to learn to live peacefully with their current three acreage kitties as their previous dog had. Sadly, I do not like cats one bit! They even hired a trainer to help them, but I am 5 years old and stuck in my ways. Being as sweet as I am, I had already wormed my way into the humans hearts. They are hoping to find me a home where I can live with my humans and enjoy all life has to offer. As a courtesy post Zoe's has not met "Thatcher". We facilitate the adoption behind the scenes to ensure a safe rehoming. We ensure the animal is up to date on vet care, spayed/neutered, and is assessed by one of our partner trainers - Zoe's does not personally know the animal. It is the adopters' responsibility to do their due diligence - ask for vet records, behavioural assessment, microchip information, and/or a trial period. Hi, I’m Thatcher, an extra-large guy with an even bigger heart, and I’m basically a giant teddy bear who loves nothing more than snuggling on the couch with my people. I’m happy to just hang out around the house and enjoy the calm moments, but when it’s playtime, a good game of tug is my absolute favorite. I’m very smart and take pride in being well behaved, and I already know sit, stay, lay down, kennel, and leave it. I listen well and love making my people proud, especially when I’m showing off my good manners. I also enjoy going on car rides! I’m sweet, affectionate, and always ready to share some gentle love. Because I’m a big, sensitive soul, I’m looking for a calm and patient home where I can truly relax. If you want a loyal, cuddly companion who’s equal parts chill and loving, I might be your perfect match. Not much is known about my history but someone must have trained me at some point as I know some basic commands and walk very nicely on leash. I am a very strong boy and can sometimes be reactive to loud noises and small noises so I do need a strong human to walk me and a no-pull harness is recommended. I can be nervous when meeting new people, especially men, but as long as you are patient and let me get comfortable at my own pace we will be buds in no time. I am house trained and well behaved in the house when you have to go out. Once I get comfortable I am a really wonderful companion! My current trainer has offered to continue private training sessions with me at a discounted rate!
