IN ADOPTION TRIAL: At 6 - 7 years old, Leah came to us as an owner-surrender when her owner's health changed and she could no longer care for her. She's been a lovely guest with us, willing to be friends with other smaller dogs (nervous of big dogs) and with dog-friendly cats. Leah enjoys walks almost as much as she loves coming home! She's not spent much time around young people, and we suspect a more mature home would be ideal for her. We've had her bloodwork, vaccinations and dental done to bring her vetting up to date.
Leah is 7 years — a senior. Senior dogs are calmer, house-trained, and often have reduced adoption fees ($100-$250). Read our complete senior dog adoption guide for what to expect, the best senior breeds for Calgary, and how to budget for senior care.
