Hi! I’m Cardamom! I was born with a large hole in my heart. I had a cardiac ultrasound done and found that while I don’t need any treatment right now, this is something that will need to be monitored over time. There’s a chance it could lead to heart problems in the future, like heart failure. I will likely need annual cardiac ultrasounds for the rest of my life in hopes of catching changes early (and possibly put on meds to extend things).
