Why Hazel Needs a New Home

This is an extremely difficult decision for our family, and I am only considering rehoming her because I genuinely want what is best for both her and my growing family. With a baby now in the picture, I have had to be realistic about whether our home and lifestyle are still the best environment for her. She is a very high-energy young dog who needs a lot of physical activity, mental stimulation, consistency, space, and one-on-one attention. As much as we love her, I don't feel that we can provide her with everything she deserves while also meeting the needs of our growing family. She is absolutely not being rehomed because she isn't loved or because she is a "bad dog." We have worked with multiple trainers and have put a great deal of time, effort, and love into her. This decision isn't being made lightly. I genuinely believe she could thrive in a different environment — ideally with an experienced, active owner and plenty of safe outdoor space where she can run, play, explore, and receive the time and attention she needs. As heartbreaking as it is to consider letting her go, I would rather make this difficult decision now and find her the right lifelong home than keep her in an environment that may no longer be the best fit for her. My biggest priority is making sure that wherever she goes is truly her forever home. I will be very selective because I don't want her being passed from home to home. She deserves someone who understands her needs, loves her for the energetic and affectionate dog she is, and can give her the lifestyle in which she'll really thrive.

About Hazel

She is a very loving, affectionate, playful girl who absolutely loves attention and being around her people. She is also a very high-energy young dog who would thrive with someone who has the space, time, and experience to continue working with her. She gets extremely excited and can be very jumpy, and she is still working on her impulse control and leash manners. We have worked with multiple trainers and have put a lot…
