About Rorshie Heeler (Courtesy Post)

Adopt a Dog or Cat in Edmonton, Alberta Rorshie Heeler (Courtesy Post)   |   Male   |   Heeler x Maremma   | I was brought home when I was just a puppy and was such a good boy who played with my new family. Unfortunately, my mom moved and I did not get along with the resident dog so was left with other family members. They are great and really love me but they have 2 dogs and 2 cats of their own so unfortunately can’t keep me long term. I also do not get along with one of their large male dogs. As a courtesy post, Zoe's has not met "Rorshie Heeler". We facilitate the adoption behind the scenes to ensure a safe rehoming. We make sure the animal is up to date on vet care, spayed/neutered, and is assessed by one of our partner trainers - Zoe's does not personally know the animal. It is the adopters' responsibility to do their due diligence - ask for vet records, a trial period, and microchip information to have it changed I’m looking for my forever family. One where I can be your best friend. I’m up for anything. I love being outside, going for walks or hikes and just playing in the backyard. I still have silly puppy energy but also love to chill and snuggle on the couch with you or in bed if you let me. I’m very food motivated and love to learn new things. You’ll get a kick out of my goofiness when I try to figure out what you want or I’m trying to get you to play with me! I am a tall boy but don’t let my size discourage you, I’m still a gentle, playful pup that loves my humans. I get excited when someone comes to the door, but I don’t jump on anyone. I can often be a little timid when first meeting new people but if you take your time and feed me some treats, I’ll be your best friend in no time. I walk well on a leash but can be a little timid when walking or exploring new areas. I sometimes whine when I see other dogs but I’m getting better about that. I am crate trained and will lie in my crate on my own and go in very willingly when you have to leave. I may whine a bit when you first leave but then settle quietly until you return. Once I learn your routine I'm great. It would be awesome if you worked from home then I could just lay beside you all day while you work but I would probably be okay if you had to go to work too. I’ve been left for long periods of time with no incidents. I’m also pretty chill when left out on my own too. I know basic commands like sit and lie down but still need some work on doing them consistently when asked. I even know how to shake a paw! I love that one! I sure hope I get to meet you. I know I can win your heart if you let me!
