About Pomskys in Edmonton
The Pomsky is a deliberate Pomeranian and Siberian Husky cross, not a breed. No major registry recognises it, and because it is a first-generation cross the adult size, coat and temperament vary far more than buyers expect. Two Pomskies from the same litter can turn out quite different.
What is consistent is that the husky side usually wins on behaviour. Expect vocalising, heavy seasonal shedding, real exercise needs and independent-minded recall. The Pomeranian side contributes the smaller frame and, unhelpfully, patellar and tracheal risk.
Pomskies are among the most heavily marketed designer dogs in Canada and prices from sellers run into the thousands. They do reach rescue, usually as adolescents whose owners expected a decorative small dog. If you want the look, the honest question is whether you want a small husky, because that is what you are adopting.
