Why Cu Needs a New Home

Why are we rehoming Cú? Our family is preparing for a significant long-distance move that will require us to live in temporary apartment accommodation while we transition and establish our new home. Unfortunately, these circumstances mean we cannot provide Cú with the living arrangements and stability we want for her during this transition. We are not rehoming Cú because of her behaviour. This decision is a consequence of our relocation and temporary housing circumstances, and it has been an incredibly difficult one for our family. Her ideal home would be with someone familiar with high-energy herding breeds who understands that these intelligent dogs need more than a daily walk. We'd love to see her with an active owner who can give her the time, attention, training, and enrichment she deserves. Please understand that we will be thoroughly vetting prospective adopters. We will ask questions about your home, lifestyle, experience with dogs, and plans for her care. We are not looking for the quickest placement. We are looking for the right placement. Cú deserves a home where she can be loved, understood, challenged, and cherished for the wonderful, energetic girl she is. Serious, thoughtful inquiries only, please. ❤️🐾 ❤️ A little note about her name Cú is named after Cú Chulainn, the legendary warrior of Irish mythology, renowned for his courage, loyalty, and fierce protectiveness. We thought it rather fitting for a little girl with such a strong instinct to protect her own beloved herd. Naturally, such a distinguished name has evolved into a collection of considerably less dignified nicknames: KD, KooKers, Kookahs, and Koo-koo-kachoo. 😂🐾 She answers to a little bit of everything, particularly when there's affection involved. ❤️
