Why Copper Needs a New Home

Rehoming due to having some behavioral issues with copper such as growling when correcting unwanted behavior/jumping on guests/removing him from furniture. Copper has growled at my 7 month old when the baby has been near him while eating ( we usually try to keep them seperate, however it isnt always possible) . Copper has not bitten or attempted to bite, but his growling when corrected or guarding his food around my infant and has made me feel he may not be safe to have around my infant. Copper is tolerant of my infant touching him and grabbing him so long as there is not food involved or toys and under direct supervision of myself. Im unable to work with a trainer at this time with copper to correct these behaviors due to financial constraints, as well as location. I have previously worked with a trainer to work on leash pulling and reactive behavior towards other dogs on walks which he has made great progress and learned quickly. Which makes me hopeful he will be able to make progress with his current behavioral issues with his new owener that chooses to work with a trainer. Copper has been on many hikes, and long runs with me in the past. I am unfortunately unable to dedicate the same time I have previously been able to with him. Copper is up to date on vaccinations and micro chipped. He enjoys going to the vet as he gets lots of treats there.

Copper likes children, however he should be supervised at all times as he is energetic and will jump. He should also be supervised around young children if there is food involved. Copper has learned to walk on leash without pulling using a…
