Why Wallace Needs a New Home
Wallace is a loving, intelligent German Shorthaired Pointer who has been a cherished member of our family. Wallace forms deep attachments to his people and craves closeness and attention — he’s not an independent, alpha-type dog, but one who thrives when he’s the center of a household’s world. Since the arrival of our two daughters, Wallace has developed significant anxiety that we haven’t been able to resolve despite our best efforts. This has shown up as destructive behavior, including accidents in the girls’ rooms and taking food from their hands. We love Wallace deeply, but we believe he needs a home where he can get the focused attention he craves — ideally without young children competing for that same attention — so he can be his happiest, most settled self.

Wallace is a German Shorthaired Pointer with a heart every bit as big as his energy for the outdoors. Despite his breed’s reputation, he’s no alpha — he’s a devoted, people-first dog who thrives on love and attention and gives it right back tenfold, especially in the form of wet, enthusiastic kisses. He’s whip-smart and endlessly curious, and he’s spent his entire life locked in an unwinnable rivalry with the neighborhood squirrels (they remain undefeated). He truly just needs lots of TLC, and he’d be very happy with a treat very now and then of peanut butter or a bully stick!
